| All proceeds from Annaleise’s Radical Crossing 2.0 will go to Camp Trillium, who offers year-round recreational experiences to bring children with cancer and their families together. They work to provide an environment that normalizes relationships and experiences, helping them in the healing process and enhancing their quality of life. I first visited Camp Trillium in 2011 as part of the North Shore Swimmers, and the visit to Rainbow Lake will forever be etched in my memory. | One of the greatest things that happened after my Lake Ontario swim in 2012 was a close bond which my family and I have formed with the County of Norfolk, leading eventually to me being hired just recently and am now a student staff member. Along the way they have honoured me over and over. The Annaleise Carr Aquatic Centre, signs at the entrance of Walsh, and I could go on for a very long time. Norfolk County is my home, and I am proud of it, and I love representing it. |
| In 2012, a guy from Alberta who was here on other business heard about my swim and wanted to meet me. After meeting Bruce Simmons we had a new member in our family! The founder of RE7, Matt Park, flew here to meet me that year and it has been a strong partnership ever since! What you may not know, is that for some reason I just couldn’t find the right sports drink that I could handle for my Lake Ontario swim. After testing and trying RE7, I had the perfect one! Imagine, this is mainly out west right now, but we are hoping to bring it to Ontario VERY soon! The stuff is amazing! You will see a lot of the RE7 logo around this summer! | Within a week of announcing my intentions to attempt to swim across Lake Erie I had all my boats I needed for the adventure! The was due to the Port Dover Sail & Power Squadron and their kindness! However, they haven’t stopped there, providing space for meetings, fundraising, helping in Erie, Pa., and so on. I am so proud to have them and their expertise on board as partners and our relationship just keeps growing! |
